The non-profit foundation “Wald-Klima-Umwelt” (Forest-Climate-Envirionment) renders possible the photographic exhibition “Forests of the World”. Conceived as a touring exhibition, it will be shown in museums in Europe, America, Africa and Asia.
In close cooperation with patrons, sponsors, prominent museums and the environmental organisations WWF International and Greenpeace International, an impressive exhibition has come into being. It shows forests untouched by urban intrusion in their uniqueness and splendour.
Significant photographic material from the most beautiful forests of five continents and the various climates was collected. The aggregate appearance of the exhibition in its visual predication fulfils the highest demands of creative and challenging photography.
The exhibition displays works of great photographers such as Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Ernst Haas, Frans Lanting as well as other photographers represented in well-known museums and collections.
The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive exhibition catalogue in two languages (German/English), containing the shown exhibits as well as text contributions by authors from the arts, photography and literature. The catalogue contains 176 pages, 130 colour reproductions, bound in the format of 25 × 30 cm.
